Buying plants from Pretty Edibles We do NOT ship plants. All plants must be picked up in person here at our nursery/garden center which is located in Spokane Valley, WA. From February through April you can pre-order plants. From May through October we are open by appointment for you to come by and shop in person.
Pre-ordered plants must be picked up during certain specified periods of time or 10 days from when you have been notified that all your plants are ready. When you pre-order you will be sent information for setting up an appointment to pick up your plants. You are responsible to make sure the appointment gets made and to ensure your plants will be picked up by you or someone you trust during the appointed time. Failure to show up for your plants can result in cancellation of your order and forfeiture of your deposit.
Pre-ordering is not a guarantee of plants! We always do everything in our power to ensure you get the plants you order, but due to the living nature of plants as well as human error both outside of, and inside of our control that is not always possible. If some or all of your order must be canceled we will always let you know as soon as we possibly can.
Browsing/shopping in person is possible after the first week of May. Simply contact us to set up an appointment to come by and browse around. It is important to note that only potted plants (not bareroot) are available for shopping in person. Bareroot plants must be pre-ordered and picked up in early April.
Using the Cart our required deposit We are now using a cart system for our pre-orders and all pre-orders will now require at least a 10% deposit. This deposit is nonrefundable except under certain circumstances. We will fully refund your deposit if:
Your order had to be canceled by us due to miss-counts, loss of product or other similar circumstances making us unable to fulfill your order.
Upon coming to your appointment to pick up your plants you are not happy with any of them and want a full refund (this has never happened, but we want you to know we stand by our plants). Please note, this refund will only be possible if you actually come here and see the plants in person.
Under certain circumstances - and at our sole discretion - we may convert deposits to in-store credit. Please contact us if circumstances outside of your control has made pick up of your plants impossible or cancellation of your order absolutely necessary. We want to help work things out!
Choosing your payment options: Pay in Full or 10% Deposit When you go to pre-order your plants, you can choose to pay in full or you can pay just the required 10% deposit.
To pay in full: Just check out as usual. No additional payment will be required upon plant pick up.
To pay only a 10% deposit: Please go to your cart and before checking out please click on the "Add a coupon code" option then input the coupon code PAYONPICKUP. This code will cut your payment total down to just 10% of the total and you can now check out as usual. The remaining 90% of your order total PLUS TAX will need to be paid at the time of pick up.
What if I don't have a credit or debit card or don't want to use one? Please contact us and we will see if we can work something out.
Discounts and Ways to Save We will now be giving a 3% discount on cash payments. If you pre-order with only a 10% deposit (using the coupon code PAYONPICKUP) and pay the rest in cash at the time of pickup, the card fee from the pre-order will be waved and the deposit you paid will be counted as if it was paid in cash. We also have bulk discounts (based on your total before tax) as follows:
Orders of $500-$999 get 5% off
Orders of $1000-$1999 get 10% off
Orders of $2000 or more get 20% off
We haven't figured out a way to implement these bulk discounts in our cart, so if your order adds up to enough for a bulk discount please only pay a 10% deposit (by using coupon code PAYONPICKUP at checkout). We will figure in the discount and charge you the adjusted remainder when you arrive to pick up your plants.
Returns, exchanges, and refunds We do not accept returns on live plants. We do have guarantees on our plants which would allow for exchanges and refunds under certain circumstances. They are as follows:
We guarantee that our plants are true to name. If a plant is found to be mislabeled we will give a 100% cash refund or credit.
We guarantee all potted plants to be alive 30 days from purchase date. If your plant dies within that time you can return it for a 50% cash refund or credit.
We guarantee all bare root plants (or plants that have not yet budded out) to be alive and to bud out above the graft. If a plant does not bud out within 60 days just contact us and return it within 90 days of purchase date and we will give you a 100% cash refund or credit, or possibly a replacement if we have one in stock. We do ask that you give our plants at least 60 days to bud before contacting us about bringing it back because it can take a while for plants to wake up. And digging them up right as they are trying to come out of dormancy will likely kill them.
Waitlist for out of stock items On the bottom of most plant pages you will find a sign up form for joining a waitlist for sold out items. This form is not for ordering and should not be used unless the items on that page have a "Sold Out" badge on them. If you subscribe to a waitlist you will be notified when an item is back in stock as soon as we are able, though this is something we have to do manually and if we are swamped the notifications may not be able to be sent out right away. After we send you the notification you will be removed from the list and will have to re-join if you want to be notified of the same thing again.
