Autumn Brilliance®, Serviceberry
(Amelanchier x grandiflora) This cultivar of Serviceberry is known for its reliable and stunning red-orange, autumn color as well being very productive of good-quality and tasty fruit. With a fast growing and heavily branched habit, Autumn Brilliance® will quickly reach a height of 20-25 feet and a width of about 15-20 feet if left untrimmed. Can also be trained as a tree. Excellent disease resistance.
Martin, Serviceberry

(Amelanchier alnifolia) Martin is a descendant of the Thiessen cultivar and was selected by Dieter Martin in Saskatchewan. This selection produces large fruits with an improved uniform ripening habit. In addition to producing a consistent yield, its berries are delicious. Many describe the taste of Saskatoon berries as having a sweet, nutty almond flavour. Saskatoon Berries are usually harvested in July. 'Martin' is a vigorous shrub with an upright habit, growing up to 16 ft tall. Hardy to USDA zone 2.
Northline, Serviceberry

(Amelanchier alnifolia) Smaller than most Serviceberries of the Saskatoon variety, Northline tends to stay around 6-12 feet tall at maturity with a dense, bushy growth habit. It is very productive with large purple fruit of outstanding flavor. Northline is a selection is from Alberta, Canada and is incredibly hardy to -50°F (USDA zone 2) when fully dormant.
Please note: the bareroot pickup time for this plant is mid to late April which is different than most of our other bareroot plants.
Rainbow Pillar, Serviceberry
(Amelanchier canadensis) Rainbow Pillar Serviceberry is a large flowering native deciduous shrub with a dense upright habit. Can be trained as a tree or even used as a hedge. Also ideal for use where a vertical accent plant is called for. The oval leaves turn brilliant shades of yellow to orange and red in fall. Clusters of snowy white flowers bloom in spring before the foliage emerges and give way to small purplish-black fruit often used in jams and jellies. Not a heavy producer and is primarily grown for ornamental purposes, but can produce better if planted near other varieties of serviceberry. Grows best in average well-drained soils, but can tolerate clay and even standing water for short periods of time. Rainbow Pillar has improved resistance to powdery mildew. Matures at 15 feet tall and about 6 feet wide if left un-trimmed. Hardy to USDA zone 4
Thiessen, Serviceberry

(Amelanchier alnifolia) Developed in Saskatchewan, Thiessen is the largest fruited variety of Serviceberry available today. It produces high yields and ripens unevenly. The flavor is described as fresh, sweet and juicy and the fruit can be over 1/2" in size! The shrub is an early bloomer and matures at about 10-16' tall, and up to 16' wide. Moderately suckering. Hardy to USDA zone 2.
